About Taronga Zoo

Taronga Zoo is Australia's leading zoo featuring Australia's best collection of native animals and a diverse collection of exotic animals reptiles and birds. When you visit Taronga you will immediately realise how special its location is. It is built on sloping land along the waterfront rising up to several hundred feet making it the ideal vantage points on Sydney Harbour that overlooks Sydney Cove, the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.

When you visit Taronga Zoo you will experience unique and fascinating animals from around the world.  Taronga Zoo Education programs give you the opportunity to encounter some of these animals face to face.

The Zoo helps to link people with nature, developing understanding and positive attitudes towards animals and their environments. Taronga Zoo aims to give the community the skills to actively participate in the care and conservation of animals and environments through various education programs.

Good things never last unless we fix them for eternity into images that all can see. Photographs remind us what we forget! Besides, no-one will believe that I was "this close" or it was "that big" unless I can show them indubitable proof"
